Very pretty spring flowering perennial, height and spread to about 30cm. Dies down completely from mid summer, re-emerges in spring. Beautiful intense magenta flowers with white ring at base showon a red stem. Prefers a site with damp conditions in spring and drier conditions in summer when dormant so avoid spots that get waterlogged.
A superb companion plant for ferns. As with the ferns an annual mulch of leaf mould in the autumn works wonders!
