Deciduous. Height 60cm. A very attractive fern with pinnae branching at their base to form a line of crosses along the frond. Very adaptable fern, prefers shade and a moisture retentive soil but tolerates drier conditions well once established.
Also known as the 'Queen of Green'. Discovered in 1861 by James Cosh in the outskirts of a wood on the Buchanan Estate, Stirlingshire.
